A simple determination of the nuclear surface symmetry energy

Description
Energy density formalism calculations in semi-infinite nuclear matter are performed. Using the Euler equations, one derives a simple and accurate expression for the surface-symmetry energy, which only involves, besides the surface properties of a symmetric semi-infinite medium, the symmetry energy in an uniform medium.
