Characteristics of the DINA track dosemeter for monitoring the chronical neutron exposure

Description

The purpose of the paper is to obtaine quantitative data on the DINA dosemeter characteristics when measuring equivalent kerma in neutron fields under the chronical personnel exposure. Track dose value was calculated for 40 neutron energy spectral distributions obtained in various rooms behind the shields of water moderated and cooled reactors. Behind the concrete shield, in rooms due to shooting through channels in shield; in nuclear power propulsion plant of the Lenin nuclear-ice-breaker. Additional calculations were conducted for 20 spectra typical for accidental exposure. The DINA dosemeter is composed of track detectors of fission fragments and the target with 237Np behind 10B filter. It is shown that the DINA dosemeter included in the GNEJS accidental assembly for β, γ and neutron radiations in suitable for monitoring the chronical neutron exposure of personnel. Track dose value equals 0.9 m Sv (track x cm-2), measurement error due to spectral sensitivity equals ± 26%
