Monoclonal antibody for the protection of neonatal pigs and calves from toxic diarrhea
Description
A monoclonal antibody reactive with the K99 pilus protein and not crossreactive with any other E. coli components has been shown to be efficacious in protecting neonatal animals from death due to enteropathogenic K99(+) E. coli. This antibody is effective when administered orally, and establishes the importance of E. coli adhesins to pathogenicity in the intestinal tract
