Whole-body irradiation prior to bone marrow transplantation in case of malignant system disease

A survey is given of the current status of whole-body irradiation prior to bone narrow transplantation, discussing indications, results of therapy, and side effects. Acute lymphatic leukemia in children is taken as an example to explain the standardised therapy concept, and the role of bone narrow transplantation in the context of the entire therapentical strategy. Es wird ueber den derzeitigen Stand der Ganzkoerperbestrahlung vor Knochenmarktransplantation in Hinblick auf Indikationen, Therapieergebnisse und Nebenwirkungen berichtet. Am Beispiel der Behandlung der akuten lymphatischen Leukaemie im Kindesalter wird das standardisierte Therapiekonzept aufgezeigt und der Einsatz der Knochenmarktransplantation in der Gesamtsicht der Behandlungsstrategie dargestellt.
