Critical group conception for populations on regions with a radionuclide contamination

  • 1. Institut Biofiziki, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

Concept of critical group population, formulated in Publication no.6 of ICRP, is analyzed. It is shown that ICRP concept for the normal radiation situation is not used under conditions of large-scale radionuclide contamination of regions, through the necessity of the concept grows at that. The similar position was taken by the RNCRP. However, the necessity of this concept is evident, when applied intervention measure deals with human group as a whole - during evacuation, relocation or termination of radiation-dangerous activity. The choice of critical group content is discussed. 14 refs
