Interaction of a relativistic electron beam with a dense plasma

Description
Results are presented of an experimental investigation of the efficiency of interaction between a monoenergetic relativistic electron beam and a dense plasma (nsub(p) approximately 1015-1017 cm-3). It is shown that the efficiency of interaction between a monoenergetic, low-divergence beam and a plasma does not decrease with growth of plasma density. Localized electromagnetic radiation from the interaction region with a wave-length lambda approximately 1 mm and soft localized X-ray radiation are observed. A spatial correlation is found between the region of production of the X-ray and uhf radiations and of the decrease of the plasma density
