Gamma plant for plant irradiation

Description

Described is a plant for gamma-irradiation of farm crops under natural conditions using 1342 Ku 60Co source. Semiempirical dependences for calculating dose rate in the irradiation zone as well as beyond its boundaries are given. Experimental investigations near the ''gamma-field'' plant were carried out. Measurement results have shown that the distribution of radiation recorded by a detector is anisotropic. The data obtained on spectral-energy distribution of gamma quanta may be used for designing the similar plants
