High intensity gamma source repair
Description
Laboratory work in the Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Health fields often requires the use of a high intensity gamma radiation source. If the mechanical system (used for placing a sample within the source geometry) breaks down, then a procedure utilizing remote manipulation of the mechanism, must be devised to effect a repair. This paper discusses one such repair that was performed in a hot cell at the University of Lowell
