Control and data acquisition system for Beam Line C and HRS
Description
The High Resolution Spectrometer (HRS) at LAMPF is a multimillion dollar facility intended for the study of proton induced reactions and scattering with 100 to 800 MeV protons. It will be used by research scientists from universities and other national laboratories throughout the United States. The design resolution of +-1.5:10-5 is better than any similar system ever attempted in this energy range. To obtain this quality as well as fully realize the research potential of the facility, a rather sophisticated computer control and data acquisition system is required. The facility, based on a general multiuser, multitask, multiprocessor system, is described
