The role of deformation and random transfer in strongly damped collisions
Description
Classical trajectory model for strongly damped collision in heavy ion collision is discussed. It is shown that the inclusion of collective deformations and random transfer through the window accounts very well for the observed properties of such collisions. In particular, they can be used to explain: the angular distribution, the mass drift, the mass distribution, the energy loss and the correlation between the energy loss and mass or charge distribution.
