Description
In the management of a radiation accident patient, a hospital must have instrumentation available to locate and assess the amount of radioactive contamination as well as to assess absorbed radiation dose to both the patient and the medical staff. The purpose of this chapter is to describe basic types and characteristics of radiation monitoring instruments, methods for assessing personal absorbed dose, and how to use physical methods to assess absorbed dose to the patient
