Nonequilibrium phonons in semiconductors. Chapter 3
Description
This chapter shows how the ability to generate picosecond and sub-pico-second optical pulses in the visible allowed to greatly enhance understanding the dynamics of nonequilibrium optical phonons in semiconductors. It has been possible to directly measure the parameters describing both the generation and decay of a nonequilibrium distribution of longitudinal optical phonons in GaAs. (author). 95 refs., 24 figs
