Determination of the double beta decay of 96Zr and 94Zr

Description
The steps necessary according to the geological method in determining the double beta decay of 96Zr and 94Zr leading to 96Mo and 94Mo, respectively, are discussed. This determination is possible with precambric zircon to be found in heavy-mineral sands of the Baltic Sea, using sensitive mass-spectrometric methods for the isotopic analysis of molybdenum.
