Description
Beamline 3B1B, a VUV beamline in Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, was designed for the studies on VUV fluorescence spectroscopy and VUV circular dichroism spectroscopy of biological macromolecules. Due to the very small acceptance and bad vacuum, the beamline did not fulfill the experiments well in past years. A new VUV beamline was designed since 2001, and the photon wavelength range is from 120 nm to 350 nm. The beamline's construction was finished and it was put into use in March 2003. The test result shows its photon flux and resolution and greatly improved. In the paper, design and performance of the beamline is introduced. (authors)
