This overview of astronomy proposes a description of the evolution of the Universe and of its content. It addresses the Universe (the Cheseaux-Olbers paradox, the Big Bang, the first minutes, the Hubble-Lemaitre law, the expansion models, first stars, dark matter, dark energy), galaxies and interstellar matter, stars (characteristics, peculiar stars and supernovae, the Sun), planets and the solar system (description, formation and evolution, characteristics of planets, eclipses...), exo-planets and the issue of extraterrestrial life, and additional aspects (rays, chemical elements, atmosphere opacity, speed of light, distances, stellar parallaxes, and so on)
