dpa calculations for neutron irradiated amorphous Fe40Ni40B20 ribbons

Description
Calculations of the displacement per atom have been performed for an amorphous metal Fe40Ni40B20, which has been exposed to incore reactor irradiation. Up to 99% of the radiation induced displacements result from the nuclear reaction 10B(n,α)7Li + 2.79 MeV, which is initiated by thermal neutrons. The number of primary knock-on atoms generated by α- and Li-particles and the size of cascades have also been calculated. A fluence of thermal neutrons of 1 x 1019 nsub(th)/cm2 is found to produce a damage in amorphous Fe40Ni40B20 which corresponds to 0.65 dpa. (orig.)

Fuer amorphe Metalle der Zusammensetzung Fe40Ni40B20, die im Inneren eines Reaktorkerns mit Neutronen bestrahlt wurden, werden dpa-Berechnungen durchgefuehrt. Die strahlungsinduzierten Atomverlagerungen ruehren in 99% aller Faelle von den Folgeprodukten der durch thermische Neutronen initiierten Kernreaktion 10B(n,α)7Li + 2,79 MeV her. Sowohl die Anzahl der durch die α- und Li-Teilchen erzeugten Primaeren Rueckstossatome als auch die Kaskadengroessen werden bei der vorliegenden Berechnung ermittelt. Fuer eine Fluenz thermischer Neutronen von 1 x 1019nsub(th)/cm2 ergibt sich in amorphem Fe40Ni40B20 eine Schaedigung von 0,65 dpa. (orig.)
