Moessbauer study of magnetic first-order transition in nickel

Description
Moessbauer effect measurements have been performed on 57Fe in a nickel host lattice. The observed spectra suggest a magnetic first-order transition demonstrated by the coexistence of two magnetic phases in a temperature interval defined by critical temperatures of 473 and 630 K. The findings may provide also an explanation for the origin of the Hopkinson effect. (orig.)
