Influence of γ-radiation and stretching load on molecular structure of isotactic polypropylene

  • 1. AN RU, Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Inst. Yadernoj Fiziki

Description

By infrared (IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction methods the change of molecular structure of isotactic polypropylene in dependence on stretching load and γ-radiation is investigated. It was mainly used the band 973 cm-1. It has been shown that the main reason of displacement of the absorption band and change of its form under stretching load and radiation are the configuration distortion of helical structure of macromolecules, oxidation processes, the conformation transformation and reorientation of some sections of macromolecules and weakening of intermolecular interaction.
