Forward-planned dose compensation for radiotherapy of the breast and internal mammary nodes using multi leaf collimators (MLC) sub-fields

Description
We have developed and implemented a method to homogenize the dose distribution in the breast in order to decrease the acute side effects. This method has also been used to treat the breast and internal mammary nodes with good dosimetric results, similar to those reported with inverse planning dose calculation. (author)
