A survey of dental radiological protection in general practice in the Republic of South Africa: Pt. 3

To determine the status of dental radiological protection in this country, a survey of 141 randomly selected general practices was carried out in 1978 and 1981. During a personal visit, 129 items of information on radiological protection matters were gathered. The findings were analysed statistically, using a main frame computer, by the Department of Statistics of the University of Pretoria. In the light of the results, which indicated that a significant hazard exists for the patient, a number of specific recommendations, aimed at raising the standard of radiological protection, are made
