Heavy metal decontamination of sludges and soils. Pt. 2
Description
This research project deals with decontamination technology for contaminated soil and sediments. A pilot plant for the decontamination of soil contaminated with heavy metals has been erected and is operated. The process is arranged in two steps: - heavy metal contaminated solid is decontaminted with acidic extraction. - the heavy metals are separated in a recyclable formation from the process solution you gain in the first process step. Heavy metal contaminated soil, heavy metal contaminated sediments (habour sediments) as well as residue from a soil regeneration plant have been successfully decontaminated in the pilot plan. An adaption of the process is necessary for various materials. High rates of mobilisation of heavy metals (e.g. lead, cadmium, chromium, copper, nickel, zinc) were obtained, especially with soil which contains less organic matter. Das Forschungsprojekt ist im Bereich der Technologien zur Dekontamination belasteter Boeden und Sedimente angesiedelt. Fuer die Dekontamination schwermetallbelasteter Boeden wurde eine Pilotanlage erstellt und betrieben. Das Verfahren gliedert sich in zwei Schritte: - Schwermetallbelasteten Feststoff durch saure Extraktion der Schwermetalle dekontaminieren; -Schwermetalle wiederverwertbar aus der dabei anfallenden Prozessloesung abtrennen. Es wurden schwermetallbelastete Boeden, schwermetallbelastete Flusssedimente (Hafenschlick) sowie Reststoffe aus einer Bodenwaschanlage in die Versuchsanlage dekontaminiert. In Abhaengigkeit von dem zu behandelnden Material sind Adaptionen erforderlich. Es konnten hohe Mobilisierungsraten fuer die Schwermetalle (Blei, Cadmium, Chrom, Kupfer, Nickel, Zink) erzielt werden, insbesondere fuer solche Boeden, die nur wenig organisches Material enthielten.
