About interaction of 'fast' ions of laser plasma with insulators

Description

This paper describes investigation of the nature of electron emission from Al2O3 and ruby surfaces subjected to the impact of multivalent ions of carbon and titanium with z=1-9 and υ=8·105 - 3·106 m/sec. The outcomes of the conducted experiments show that there is a decrease of the electron emission rate under the above ion speed range. The obtained outcomes are sufficiently in compliance with the Parilis-Kishenevkiy theory related to interaction of charged particles and solid bodies
