Dose distribution of a rotation therapy with orthogonal axes
Description
We have invented a new method for radiosurgery using teletherapeutic equipment. The method is a sort of rotation therapy having two orthogonal axes perpendicular to each other. In order to obtain the details of the isodose curves produced in our method, a sphere mix DP phantom, 18 cm in diameter including X-ray films and TLD, was used. The dose to the outside of the target irradiated area was extremely low, as shown by isodose curves obtained. Moreover, we could not find any traces of irradiation on the surface of the phantom. The isodose curves obtained were compared with isodose curves published by other researchers using standard methods. The isodose curves provided by this new method were quite satisfactory. We firmly believe that our new irradiation method is among the best available at the present time. (author)
