- 1. Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Rentgenologii i Radiologii, Moscow (USSR)
Description
A study was made on early and delayed effects of radiotherapy of 76 patients with metastases of various tumors to the liver, as well as on prognostic factors, influencing efficiency factors. All patients were subjected to the telegamma-therapy for the whole liver volume from 2 contrary anteroposterior fields by 20-31 Gy total dose for the center of liver volume. Some clinical and biological characters, affecting the frequency of early effect attaiment and life spans of patients with metastases to the liver after radiotherapy are presented. It was shown that subjective positive effect was obtained for 72.4 % of patients. Survival rate in the case of lung tumor metastases is lower, as compared to other kinds of tumor, while the early effect is the same
