Description
The structure of deformed actinide nuclei is studied in terms of an intrinsic Hamiltonian containing a quadrupole-octupole mean field. It is shown that there is significant amount of the collective dipole (1/sup -/) nucleon pair in the wave function of low-lying states, and that the dipole mode, for instance the dipole boson, has to be included in the description of such nuclei as well as the octupole one
