Description
Extensive use of nucleonic gauges were observed by the author in the industries like refinery, aluminium foil manufacturing unit, steel plant, paper mill and heavy water plant situated in the eastern region. Radiological protection surveys were carried out time to time for the same. Applications observed are level gauges, density gauges, ash analysers, thickness gauges etc. The present article describes a typical application for thickness measurement by backscattering principle.
