Radiometric methods in hydrology and site investigation

The Radiometry Division has existed within the framework of the Geological Techniques Research and Development Centre since 1974. In the period 1974-1976, the Division developed and introduced an instrumental method of reactor activation analysis into hydrogeological practice. Simultaneously (1975-1976), the Division initiated a study on the application of radiometric methods in geological exploration. During recent years (1976-1980) the Division activity was concerned with the technical applications of X-ray fluorescence analysis and neutron method with Gf-252 source. (author)
