Description
A radiation-chemical graft polymerization of 2-methyl-5-vinyl pyridines from gas phase to macroporous silica gel surface is considered. The radiation-chemical graft polymerization has been affected by γ-radiation and also by accelerated electrons (E=5 MeV). It is shown that with temperature increase under constant monomer vapor pressure the graft polymer quantity and the initial process rate decrease. When the dose rate increases the graft quantity decreases, and the initial reaction rate considerably increases. A comparative estimation of vinyl pyridine reactivity in the radiation graft polymerization reaction is made. The materials obtained after graft polymerization have ion-exchange properties
