Study of ferromagnetic component base material on nuclear power plant testing

  • 1. Reactor Safety Technology Center, National Atomic Energy Agency of Indonesia(Indonesia)

Description

Ferromagnetic component base material testing on Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has been studied. NPP component was chosen is A533 grade B2 steel, which is commonly used for pressure vessels in light-water reactor. The testing development technology we performed from the acoustic emission measurement and magnetic field measurement combination and namely Barkhausen noise measurement technique. The non destructive Test provides to residual stress and characteristic microstructure measurement. The metallurgical effect and magnetomechanical acoustic emission parameters will be tried to study the Fe-Ni content. The result of study was recrystallization of dislocated grains proceeds at 600oC and tempering at 650oC produced annealed ferrite plus carbide structure
