Vapor composition and thermodynamic parameters of lanthanum trichloride

Description
Vapor composition above lanthanum trichloride was studied by the method of high-temperature mass spectrometry. Monomer LaCl3 and Dimer La2Cl6 molecules and Cl-, LaCl4-, La2Cl7- ions were revealed in saturated vapor in the temperature range from 937 to 1144 K. Partial pressures of the vapor components were identified and, using the second and third laws of thermodynamics, sublimation enthalpies ΔsH0 (298.15 K) were calculated for monomer and dimer molecules: 340 ± 4 (LaCl3), 486 ± 20 (La2Cl6) kJ/mol. Ion-molecular equilibrium involving negative ions were studied, equilibrium constants were ascertained, reaction and formation enthalpies, i. e. ΔfH0 (298.15 K), of the molecules and ions were calculated: -737 ± 5 (LaCl3), -1668 ± 20 (La2Cl6), -1266 ± 19 (LaCl4-), -2244 ± 30 (La2Cl7-) kJ/mol
Abstract (Russian)
Методом высокотемпературной масс-спектрометрии изучен состав пара над трихлоридом лантана. В интервале температур от 937 до 1144 К в насыщенном паре обнаружены мономерные LaCl3 и димерные La2Cl6 молекулы и ионы Cl-, LaCl4- и La2Cl7-. Определены парциальные давления компонентов пара и с использованием II и III законов термодинамики рассчитаны энтальпии сублимации ΔsH0 (298.15 K) в виде мономерных и димерных молекул: 340 ± 4 (LaCl3), 486 ± 20 (La2Cl6) кДж/моль. Исследованы ионно-молекулярные равновесия с участием отрицательных ионов, определены константы равновесия и рассчитаны энтальпии реакций и энтальпии образования, ΔfH0 (298.15 K), молекул и ионов: -737 ± 5 (LaCl3), -1668 ± 20 (La2Cl6), -1266 ± 19 (LaCl4-), -2244 ± 30 (La2Cl7-) кДж/мольAdditional details
