Description
In the frame of the preliminary safety analysis Gorleben the retrieval of waste containers was discussed in the working package ''final repository design and optimization''. It was shown that in case of POLLUX container drift emplacement retrieval is possible, a required time effort of 40 years is estimated. The retrieval of coquilles from boreholes is significantly more complex. In this context new process steps for the boreholes including a piping system were developed and a new layout for the coquilles was designed.
