Description
Without calling on chemical separation techniques liable to impair the mineralogical entity of the samples, the method described here enables the alpha radiation intensities of the eight alpha-emitting isotopes in the uranium-radium family to be determined quantitatively by a spectrometric study using semi-conductor detectors. The method is applied to minerals in equilibrium: pitchblende, uraninite; and to newly-formed minerals: uranopilite, autunite, chalcolite etc

Sans faire appel a des techniques de separations chimiques risquant de nuire a l'entite mineralogique des echantillons, la methode presentee ici permet, par une etude spectrometrique a l'aide des detecteurs a semi-conducteurs, de determiner quantitativement les intensites des rayonnements alpha des huit radioisotopes emetteurs alpha de la famille uranium-radium.
