Note on the mechanism of non-isotopic exchange of the dopant in gamma irradiated mixed crystals
Description
Non-isotopic exchange in gamma irradiated mixed crystals of K2SO4-Na2SO4 doped with 51Cr(III) has been investigated before and after annealing treatments. Oxidation of 51Cr(III) to 51Cr(VI) and formation of 51CrO42- matrix occurred as a result of gamma irradiation. The results have been discussed in terms of oxygen-vacancies formation and recombination reactions. (author)
