The outburst infrared continuum of AO538-66

Creators

Description

JHK photometry of the X-ray variable AO538-66 at various stages in its recurrent outbursts reveals an infrared continuum not directly predicted by existing models. The continuum could arise in gaseous processes or from a partially-obscured accretion disc. A test of the alternatives is proposed. (author)
