Description

Stronger commodity prices and stable investment conditions are driving up the value of NSW mineral and coal output. Although the growth rate of minerals mining and exploration has surpassed that of coal over the past year, coal remains the state's most important export sector. Increases in coal prices over the past two years have led to a revitalisation of the NSW coal industry after a period of low profitability and rationalisation. New projects in the pipeline or underway include Carrington, the South Lemington Extension, Tahmoor North, Dendrobium, Ravensworth East, the South Bulga extension, Beltana, Nardell, the Dartbrook and Cumnock extensions and Mount Arthur North
