Redox potentials of the Bk(4)-Bk(3) pair
Description
Theoretical basis and results of experimental check are given of integral and differential versions of the coulomb-potentiometric method to measure redox potentials of reversible couples. Measurement errors have been determined and such factors discussed as concentration of a potential-determining element and the presence of side chemical and radiolytic reactions. The differential version of the coulomb-potentiometric method which is high-sensitive (it can be applied to concentrations of a potential-determining element as low as 5x10-5 g-eq/1) does not require complete oxidation and allow measurements of potentials of couples in the presence of radiolytic reduction reactions whose rate is commenurable with that of electrochemical reduction of Bk(4)
