Studies on irradiation of agar-agar in the solid state: on the changes of viscosity of agar-agar hydrosol produced by irradiation
Description
Abstract The effects of radiation on the formation of the agar-agar hydrosol were studied by measuring the viscosity changes at different radiation doses and concentrations of added substances (sugar and starch). The behaviors of the viscosity changes were determined. The experimental equations for the viscosity changes are given by Where ηred is the reduced viscosity of the agaragar hydrosol, X is the radiation dose, t is the elapsed time after irradiation, S is the concentration of the added substances, and a, b and c are adjustable constants.
