Study of rhenium (6) oxytetrachloride adducts by the method of ESR

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Obshchej i Neorganicheskoj Khimii

Description

By the ESR method studied is interaction of ReOCl4 in nonaqueous media (toluene or CCl4) with donor ligands such as triophenylphosphineoxide, urea, acetonitrile, acetone, diethyl ether, dimethylglyoxime, dioxan. For all compouns under investigation the ESR spectra of the same type as of the known ReOCl5- complex anion are obtained. The conclusion is made that the donor ligands during interaction with ReOCl4 are coordinated to the 6-th coordination position, into the transposition to the Re=O bond and do not displace Cl- acido-ligands into the second sphere, while adducts of the ReOCl4xL composition, where L is a donor ligand, are formed
