Description

X-ray diagnostic permits to evaluate and to demonstrate the postoperative site, the healing with ossification in the operation field, the changes of displaced teeth, and complications. Among the complications there are fractures, remaining parts of teeth, lesions of structures in the neighbourhood (teeth, nerves) foreign bodies, recurrencies and inflammation. It is advisable to documentate the morphology postoperatively. Another control after some 12 months is recommended. The risk of recurrency is higher in case of cystectomy or cystostomy combined with partial resection. Symptoms of recurrency are the appearing of zones of radiolucency or the growth of radiotransparent regions. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Roentgenologisch fassen lassen sich der postoperative Situs, Heilvorgaenge mit knoecherner Durchbauung des Operationsbereichs und Stellungsaenderungen der vorher verlagerten Zaehne sowie Komplikationen. Zu den Komplikationen zaehlen Kieferfrakturen, belassene Wurzelreste, Laesionen benachbarter Strukturen (Zaehne, Nerven), Fremdkoerper, Rezidive und die Entzuendung. Es bietet sich an, unmittelbar postoperativ die oertlichen Verhaeltnisse zu dokumentieren. Eine weitere Kontrolle nach etwa 12 Monaten erscheint sinnvoll. Die gleichzeitig mit der Zystektomie oder Zystostomie durchgefuehrte Wurzelspitzenresektion erhoeht die Wahrscheinlichkeit eines Rezidivs. Rezidivzeichen sind neu entstehende Aufhellungszonen oder das Wachstum postoperativ nachweisbarer Aufhellungsbezirke.
