Risk-informed approach application for nuclear power plant technical specification optimization. Deliverables 5.1-5.4

Description

Report discusses the methodology, steps and criteria for risk-informed optimization of technical specification for Armenian NPP Unit 2 in terms of equipment allowed outage times (AOTs). PSA model modifications, requantification and analysis current AOT requirements are presented. Re-quantification of PSA model was done in order to estimate cumulative risk impact coming from AOT changes proposed by ANPP. Analysis show that reevaluated CDF value equals to 7.67E-05 [1/y] which means that ΔCDF=2.0E-07 [1/y]. According to allowable risk increase criteria calculated ΔCDF and base case CDF values belong to the Region III, where proposed changes could be accepted as having negligible impact on overall plant risk. However in order to proceed with the final decision regarding proposed AOT changes it is necessary to compare full scope risk including low power states and level 2 PSA model
