Description
Recent observations on X-ray absorption studies of metal complexes in solution and X-ray induced conductivity of organometallics in hydrocarbon solution are reported. In the former study, emphasis is placed on the electronic structure of Ce4+ aquo ions in water and its implication to electron exchange structure. In the latter study, an additivity model of ionization yields is introduced. It is shown that this model can be used to explain the X-ray absorption spectrum using the x-ray induced conductivity of organometallics in hydrocarbon solutions at the metal absorption edges and to predict the concentration where the inversion of the absorption edge occurs
