Beam collector and output window for a 35GHz, 100 KW gyrotron
Description
Practical considerations for the beam collector and output window design of a 35 GHz, 100 kW gyrotron are presented. A ballistic model for the electron flow in the collector region is developed with the subsequent determination of a large collecting are to withstand the power deposited by the impinging electron beam. The cooling system has been devised in order that the collector coll-down time be compatible with the pulsed regime of one shot per minute. Thermophysical properties of dielectric windows relevant to gyrotrons are also reported. (author)

Consideracoes praticas de projeto do coletor de eletrons e da janela de saida para um girotron de 35 GHz, 100KW sao apresentadas. Desenvolve-se um modelo balistico para o fluxo de eletrons na regiao de coletor com a subsequente determinacao de uma area ativa suficientemente extensa para coletar com seguranca a potencia depositada pelo feixe de eletrons. O sistema de remocao de calor e planejado para que o tempo de resfriamento do coletor seja compativel com o regime pulsado de um disparo por minuto. Propriedades termofisicas de janelas dieletricas relevantes para girotrons de alta potencia sao tambem avaliadas. (autor)Files
