Description

A technique of extraction - spectral determination of non-rare earth impurities (V, Fe, Co, Mn, Cu, Ni) in cerium dioxide of high purity at the level of 10-5-10-6% is developed. The method consists in the group concentrating of impurities by means of cerium (4) extraction from nitric acid solutions with 100% TBP and includes preliminary treatment of TBP with bromine solution in nitric acid. The efficiency of the way suggested depends considerably on the ratio of bromine concentration in HNO3 solution and the concentration of the impurities of reducers in the extragent. The relative standard deviation of single determination constitutes 0.2-0.3 (n>=10) for the concentrations exceeding the minimum determined one by a factor of 2-5
