Overview of American research plan for nuclear safety
Creators
Description
Nuclear safety research in the United States, through flushing after TMI accident, has been effected by the financial situation and the budget for research will be decreasing in funding year by year. Some projects that seem unable to promise useful results in the short future or that need too much financial support will be shrunk or finally cancelled. While efforts will be emphasized on the safety problems relevent to licensing process and plant operation. More attention and more priority are paid to: integrity of coolant boundary, severe accident evaluation and mitigation, risk analysis, human factors and man/machine interface problem. (Author)
