Simultaneous coulometric microdetermination of carbon hydrogen and tellurium in organic compounds

Description

A method is suggested of simultaneous microdetermination of carbon, hydrogen, and tellurium in organic substances containing C, H, O, and Te. Tellurium is titrated coulometrically as TeO2, hydrogen is determined by electrolysis of water formed, carbon by a modified procedure based on absorption of CO2 in an excess of an alkali electrogenerated in a Ba(ClO4)2 solution. The excess alkali is titrated with a perchloric acid solution and carbon is determined from a charge of electricity consumed for generation of the alkali spent to bind CO2
