Radiation hazards on electrical properties of Schottky diodes

  • 1. Sueleyman Demirel University, Isparta (Turkey)

Description

Diodes are one of the most important component largely used in different types electronic device industries. In the radiation detector technology, it can be used to fabricate radiation detectors that are used in the measurement of energetic particles in nuclear and high energy physics experiments. As the diodes used in nuclear detectors are always under radiation effect, it is important to test variation of their current-voltage characteristics with the radiation. In this work, GaAs Schottky diodes have been exposed to radiation source and the effects of radiation on the electrical performance of the diodes have been investigated.
