Bursting-protection configuration for cylindrical steam generators of pressurized water reactors

Description

The bursting-protection jacket consists of cylinder courses, being joined together in axial direction, and of a bottom and a cover, being connected by means of axial prestressing tendons. For absorption and transmission of the steam generator weight and the bursting forces the bottom consists of a conical shell, tapered towards the side of the steam generator, and a support ring supporting the bottom circle of the cone. This support ring is built in sandwich construction and is connected with the axial tendons. The conical shell may be reinforced by radial ribs. If a primary coolant pump is built in there is provided for a rocking bearing between its pump casing flange and the bottom. (DG)

Abstract (German)

Der Berstschutzmantel besteht aus axial aneinandergereihten Zylinderschuessen sowie Boden und Deckel, die miteinander mittels Axialspannelementen verbunden sind. Zur Aufnahme und Weiterleitung des Dampferzeugergewichts und der Berstkraefte besteht der Boden aus einer sich zu der Dampferzeugerseite hin verjuengenden Kegelschale und einem den Kegelfusskreis abstuetzenden Stuetzring. Dieser Stuetzring ist in Mehrlagenbauweise ausgefuehrt und mit den Axialspannelementen verbunden. Die Kegelschale kann durch Radialrippen versteift sein. Ist eine Primaerkreis-Kuehlmittelspumpe mit eingebaut, so ist zwischen deren Pumpengehaeuseflansch und dem Boden eine Pendelstuetzlagerung vorgesehen. (DG)
