Management of Korea Multi-purpose Accelerator Complex / Support of Beam-utilized Researches

Description

A total of three ion beam facilities (gaseous ion beam facility, metal ion beam facility, and 1.7 MV tandem accelerator) were operated, and 2,765 processes and 408 projects were supported over three years. The operation rate of the ion beam facility was maintained at over 94%. Proton beam research support has supported 5,176 processes and 269 projects over three years. In particular, for the support of excellent users, we discovered key support projects and supported nine projects. As a result of supporting users using beam facilities, a total of 57 SCI papers were published. In addition, for the R&D technical support of SMEs, 61 technical consultations and 31 beam service support were performed. For the convenience of beam users, a total of 153 cases for industrial users were supported by operating proton/ion beam irradiation post-processing analysis equipment (FE-SEM, nano-indentation, FT-IR, etc.). In order to provide high-quality proton/ion beams to users, the beam utilization facility was maintained and repaired, and performance was enhanced by implementing a new ion species beam service based on user's demand and enhancing the accuracy of dose measurement. In addition, ISO9001:2015 was operated and the integrated safety management system (ANSIM) was upgraded to successfully operate the quality assurance system. In order to activate the use of proton/ion beam, five technical reports were published, including 67Cu production technology development report and a technical report on the evaluation of the impact of cosmic radiation, and internal capabilities were strengthened. Based on this, it is expected that the results of advanced technology development using particle beams can be derived
