Laminar condensation heat transfer inside inclined tubes

Creators

  • 1. Univ. of Stellenbosch, South Africa

Description

The problem of heat transfer during condensation of saturated refrigerant--12 vapor in both smooth and internally finned tubes was investigated. The effects of tube inclination and different tube diameter to tube length ratios are examined. Experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions in the case of smooth tubes while significant improvements in heat transfer rate are obtained with internally finned tubes
