The French para-petroleum industry. Result of the 2001 inquiry carried out by GEP, CEP and M, and IFP

  • 1. Institut Francais du Petrole (IFP), 92 - Rueil-Malmaison (France)

Description

This article presents the economical data of the French para-petroleum companies (or having foreign capitals but production means located in France) which play an active role in the supply of oil and gas equipments to the exploration-production, refining and petrochemistry activities; These data do not take into consideration the activities relative to the distribution and use of hydrocarbons. Also, the international transportation activity is not considered in this inquiry because it belongs more to the oil and gas companies than to the para-petroleum ones. On the other hand, the works and equipments in relation with the transportation activity are considered, like for instance the laying-out of pipelines or the construction of methane tanker-ships.
